O processo de fabrico de papel \u00e9 um processo industrial longo e complexo, que consiste em separar as fibras umas das outras. O papel \u00e9, em grosso modo, uma malha de constituintes espec\u00edficos das madeiras, sendo as fibras provenientes das folhosas e os traque\u00eddos das resinosas. A propor\u00e7\u00e3o e utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de cada um \u00e9 fun\u00e7\u00e3o do tipo de papel pretendido.<\/p>\n

O eucalipto em Portugal encontrou condi\u00e7\u00f5es de crescimento que lhe conferem caracter\u00edsticas singulares, apresentando, em m\u00e9dia, 60% de fibras na sua constitui\u00e7\u00e3o, valor acima da m\u00e9dia mundial (30 a 40 %).<\/p>\n

Esta grande densidade de fibras associada a um crescimento r\u00e1pido da \u00e1rvore (10 a 15 anos) faz desta esp\u00e9cie a mais utilizada na ind\u00fastria de PPP (pasta para papel) Portuguesa.
